The deal, expected to close on January 1, 2026, pending customary conditions, will broaden Willdan’s reach and bolster its technical and financial capabilities for public agencies nationwide. The terms were not disclosed.
Compass provides advisory support to public agencies as they tackle infrastructure rehabilitation, population growth, and capital project planning. As a fully registered Municipal Advisor, the firm offers guidance on capital planning, debt issuance, and investment strategies. Its team has spent over a decade helping local governments improve fiscal decision-making and execute long-term community development strategies.
With this acquisition, Willdan Financial Services will expand its geographic footprint, enhance its municipal advisory capabilities, and deepen its expertise in supporting utilities and government clients. Willdan noted that the combination will strengthen its ability to serve a broader range of agencies and deliver more comprehensive financial and technical solutions.
Compass maintains its headquarters in Columbia, South Carolina, and operates an additional office in Lexington, Kentucky. Willdan, which provides professional technical and consulting services across energy efficiency, municipal finance, engineering, and policy planning, sees the acquisition as a strategic step in its ongoing focus on sustainable growth and expanded service offerings.
