Willkie Farr & Gallagher: Private Equity Partner Hire Strengthens London Expansion Strategy

By Amit Chowdhry • Apr 1, 2026

Willkie Farr & Gallagher announced that it has hired Miroslav Tomo as a partner in London, continuing its push to expand its private equity capabilities in the UK and Europe. The move underscores the firm’s broader strategy of building out its presence in London through targeted lateral hires across key practice areas.

Tomo joins from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was part of the private equity real estate and infrastructure team. At Willkie, he will serve within the Corporate & Financial Services Department and the Private Equity Practice Group, advising on cross-border M&A, private equity transactions, and corporate matters.

The firm said Tomo brings extensive experience advising sovereign wealth funds and leading financial sponsors across sectors, with a particular focus on real estate and infrastructure. His work includes joint ventures, minority investments, carve-outs, shareholder arrangements, co-investments, and management equity plans.

The hire is part of a broader expansion effort in London, where Willkie has been adding partners across private equity, fund formation, restructuring, and competition practices. The firm highlighted its global private equity platform, which spans fund formation, M&A, financing, IPOs, and exit strategies, supported by lawyers across major financial centers in the U.S., UK, and Europe.

Tomo’s addition follows other recent hires in the London office, including private equity partner Hamesh Khatkar, with whom he is expected to collaborate on real estate M&A transactions. The firm continues to position itself as a leading advisor to private equity clients globally, emphasizing its integrated, full-service approach.
