Willow Wealth Appoints Tom Williams As Chief Investment Officer

Willow Wealth, a platform for retail private markets investing, announced the appointment of Tom Williams as Chief Investment Officer. In the role, Williams will oversee the company’s investment strategy and product development and will report directly to CEO Mitchell Caplan.

Williams joins Willow Wealth from Morgan Stanley’s Outsourced Chief Investment Office. Over the course of his career, he has managed assets for institutional and high-net-worth clients, holding chief investment officer and senior investment leadership positions at Man Group and Pine Grove Asset Management. At Pine Grove, he served as CIO and President of a multi-strategy fund of funds. Williams and his co-owner also led a management buyout of the business before completing its strategic sale to Man Group.

The appointment comes during a period of expansion for Willow Wealth. The company recently raised more than $77 million in funding and expanded its roster of institutional investment partners to include The Carlyle Group, Goldman Sachs, and StepStone Group.

Before entering the investment industry, Williams began his career as an attorney focused on corporate and intellectual property law. He earned a degree in Economics from Trinity College, a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Seton Hall University and Columbia University.
