Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a leading legal advisor to global technology and life sciences enterprises, has announced that Charles (CJ) Gelinas has joined the firm’s Corporate Finance practice in New York as a partner. Gelinas brings deep expertise in structured finance, asset-backed securities, and fintech innovation, further expanding the firm’s capabilities across financial technology, crypto, and consumer finance sectors.
Gelinas joins from Dentons, where he was a partner in the Capital Markets practice and led the U.S. Distributed Ledger Technology group. His work spans complex financings, including securitizations, warehouse transactions, and asset-based lending, as well as cutting-edge structures involving student income-share agreements, NIL contracts, and home equity appreciation products. He has also advised banks on over $6 billion in securities backed by mortgage servicing receivables and guided a central investment bank through a $2.5 billion offshore rehypothecation facility.
Gelinas will play a key role in supporting clients as they navigate emerging financial markets and regulatory environments. His appointment reinforces Wilson Sonsini’s commitment to expanding its capital markets and fintech advisory capabilities, complementing the recent addition of Stanford Renas, a partner specializing in project finance.
