Wingspire Equipment Finance has closed a $140 million equipment financing transaction with a private equity-backed company providing GPU cloud computing capacity to AI labs, enterprises and public-sector organizations.
The financing supports continued expansion of the company’s high-performance cloud platform and was used to fund high-density GPU servers designed for advanced artificial intelligence workloads.
The unnamed company operates a dedicated GPU cloud platform that gives customers access to computing capacity for AI model training, fine-tuning and inference.
Wingspire said the financing provides additional capital for the company to expand its digital infrastructure as demand for accelerated computing continues to increase.
High-performance AI infrastructure can require substantial upfront investment in GPU servers and the supporting equipment needed to operate dense computing environments at scale.
Wingspire structured the transaction around the borrower’s expansion plans and customer demand, providing financing specifically tied to those capital-intensive infrastructure requirements.
The company expects the new equipment to help it expand available compute capacity while supporting continued customer growth.
The transaction also represents a significant example of equipment financing being used to fund the physical infrastructure underpinning the AI market.
Beyond GPU compute assets, Wingspire Equipment Finance also finances supporting digital infrastructure such as the power and cooling systems required to operate high-density compute deployments.
The financing reflects growing demand for specialized capital structures as GPU cloud operators, data center companies and other AI infrastructure providers invest in increasingly expensive computing systems.
Wingspire focuses on large equipment financing transactions for middle-market and private equity-backed businesses.
Its financing structures are designed to help companies fund major equipment purchases while preserving flexibility for broader growth initiatives.
Wingspire Equipment Finance is the equipment financing arm of Wingspire Capital, which is a portfolio company of Blue Owl Capital Corporation.
Blue Owl Capital Corporation is externally managed by an affiliate of Blue Owl Capital, which reported approximately $319 billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2026.
The $140 million transaction further expands Wingspire’s exposure to AI and digital infrastructure as investment in GPU capacity continues to drive demand for both computing hardware and the supporting systems required to operate it.
