Winston Taylor has added Zila Acosta-Grimes as a partner in New York, expanding the law firm’s capabilities across financial regulation, digital assets, banking, payments, financial crimes compliance and fintech.
Acosta-Grimes joins the firm’s Transactions Department, Financial Innovation & Regulation Practice and Digital Assets Group.
Her practice focuses on advising domestic and international financial institutions, private funds and other businesses on regulatory and compliance matters affecting financial services.
Her experience includes anti-money laundering requirements, sanctions, the Bank Secrecy Act, digital currencies, banking regulation, government inquiries and internal investigations.
Acosta-Grimes also advises financial institutions and digital asset providers on entering the U.S. market, stablecoin issuances and state and federal licensing requirements.
Her work extends to financial regulatory reform, including helping clients navigate rulemaking processes and engage with domestic regulators and international standard-setting organizations.
Winston Taylor said the appointment strengthens its ability to advise both established financial institutions and emerging market participants as regulatory frameworks around digital assets, payments and fintech continue evolving.
The addition is particularly relevant as stablecoins and other digital asset businesses encounter increasingly interconnected requirements involving financial regulation, financial crimes compliance, licensing and transactional structuring.
Acosta-Grimes will work from New York, an important center for financial institutions, private investment firms and emerging financial technology businesses.
Her arrival is part of broader growth across Winston Taylor’s transactional platform.
The firm recently added Shan Haider and David Love in New York as well as Lee Discher and Patrick Valenti in Chicago.
