WIOCC Group Secures $300 Million Investment From AFC And Vision Invest

WIOCC Group has signed an agreement for a combined $300 million strategic investment from Africa Finance Corporation and Vision International Investment Company, providing additional capital to expand its digital infrastructure platform across Africa.

The investment is intended to accelerate WIOCC’s development of open-access infrastructure supporting connectivity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and broader digital services across the continent.

WIOCC currently operates across more than 30 African countries and has built an extensive carrier-neutral digital infrastructure platform connecting businesses and digital ecosystems across the continent.

WIOCC’s infrastructure portfolio includes subsea assets, terrestrial networks, metro infrastructure, hyperscale data centers and digital platforms supporting intra-African and international connectivity.

The financing comes as demand for data, cloud services and AI infrastructure continues to increase across Africa.

According to figures cited by WIOCC, approximately 35.7% of Africa’s population used the internet in 2025, compared with a global average of 73.6%, highlighting the potential for further infrastructure investment.

WIOCC’s existing investor base includes African telecommunications operators and international investment institutions including the International Finance Corporation and African Capital Alliance.

Africa Finance Corporation has invested more than $19 billion across 36 African countries since its establishment in 2007.
