Wison Engineering has secured an approximately $4.04 billion contract from ADNOC Gas for a major natural gas processing development in Abu Dhabi, marking the largest engineering, procurement and construction contract in Wison’s history.
The award covers Phase 2 of ADNOC Gas’ Rich Gas Development project, including construction of a new natural gas processing train at Habshan and a 220KV switch station.
Approximately $3.9 billion of the total contract relates to engineering, procurement and construction of the new processing train.
The record award significantly expands Wison Engineering’s presence in the Middle East and gives the company responsibility for a large, technically complex piece of energy infrastructure.
ADNOC Gas is the gas-processing subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
The new facility will be located in the Habshan area of Abu Dhabi.
Wison’s scope includes gas pipelines, separation and condensate stabilization units, acid gas removal facilities and deep natural gas liquids recovery units.
The project also includes the 220KV switch station.
Once operational, the new processing train is expected to expand ADNOC Gas’ natural gas processing capacity and improve operating flexibility.
The additional processing capacity is also intended to support growing demand from the United Arab Emirates’ downstream and petrochemical industries.
For Wison Engineering, the project demonstrates its ability to compete for increasingly large energy infrastructure contracts from major international customers.
The company plans to draw on its experience across oil and gas processing, large-scale facility design and integrated EPC project management as it executes the Habshan development.
Wison will combine its local operations in Abu Dhabi with its international supply chain to support procurement, engineering and construction activities.
The company said the approach is intended to support safe and high-quality execution throughout the project lifecycle.
Wison also views the award as strategically important to its longer-term expansion in the Middle East.
The company has been seeking to deepen its presence across major oil and gas markets, and securing its largest-ever EPC contract from ADNOC Gas provides a substantial reference project within one of the world’s most important energy-producing regions.
The Habshan development is also expected to support ADNOC Gas’ broader strategic growth objectives through 2030.
Natural gas processing infrastructure plays an important role between upstream production and downstream markets by separating and treating raw gas while recovering valuable liquids and preparing products for transportation and industrial use.
The scope of the Rich Gas Development project therefore extends across several critical parts of that processing chain.
The deep NGL recovery facilities are particularly significant because they enable valuable natural gas liquids to be separated from the broader gas stream for use in petrochemical and other downstream applications.
The acid gas removal and condensate stabilization facilities will provide additional processing capabilities required before gas and associated liquids can move further through the energy value chain.
Wison said successful delivery of the project will provide a foundation for expanding its relationships across the Middle East and other major international oil and gas markets.
At approximately $4.04 billion, the ADNOC Gas award represents a major step up in scale for Wison Engineering and establishes the Habshan Phase 2 project as the largest EPC contract the company has secured to date.
