International law firm Withers has hired senior corporate lawyer Raymond Oh as a partner in its corporate practice, with a role spanning the firm’s Singapore and Hong Kong offices. The move bolsters Withers’ corporate capabilities in Asia as it continues to invest in growing its regional platform.
Oh joins Withers from Sidley Austin, where he served as a partner and deputy head of the firm’s China corporate and finance practice in Hong Kong. He brings more than two decades of experience advising on complex cross-border corporate transactions across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the wider Asia Pacific region.
His practice covers M&A, capital markets and corporate finance, including IPOs and listings on major international exchanges, follow-on equity offerings, convertible bonds and other equity-linked instruments, preferred equity investments, takeovers and privatisations, joint ventures, PIPE transactions and private capital transactions. Withers said Oh has advised on high-profile and market-leading transactions across Asia and internationally, with recent work spanning public company takeovers, SPAC business combinations, cross-border IPOs across multiple listing regimes, take-private and privatisation transactions, and significant cross-border M&A in sectors including technology, healthcare, fintech, energy and infrastructure.
In addition to public markets work, Oh advises founders and early-stage to growth companies on strategic capital raising and structuring, including pre-IPO investments through preferred equity, convertible bonds and other structured equity and hybrid instruments, and supports clients through subsequent public listings, take-privates and exit transactions. He also advises global corporations, founders, private capital sponsors and financial institutions on complex strategic investments, joint ventures, acquisition financings and capital markets-adjacent private capital structures across Greater China and Southeast Asia.
Withers said Oh will work closely with its cross-border corporate team across Asia, including lawyers in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
