Wonder Acquires Claim To Expand Restaurant Rewards And Drive Dine-In Traffic

Grubhub’s parent company Wonder has acquired Claim, a restaurant rewards app that offers automatic cash-back incentives designed to drive dine-in and pickup traffic while giving restaurants new tools to attract and retain customers.

Claim lets consumers sign up for exclusive cash-back rewards from local restaurants that can be redeemed for dine-in or pickup orders. Restaurants using Claim can create targeted promotions aimed at high-intent diners, with performance tracking and insights available through a merchant dashboard. With the acquisition, Grubhub plans to expand access to Claim’s guest marketing and retention capabilities across its merchant network, while offering Grubhub diners additional ways to save.

Grubhub and Claim positioned the product as a differentiated alternative to traditional rewards and promotional mechanics by removing the need for codes, scanning, or manual actions at checkout. Qualifying in-person transactions are recognized automatically at the point of payment, which the companies said reduces friction for diners and avoids adding operational complexity for restaurants.

Under Grubhub, Claim is expected to support restaurants ranging from large national chains to local independents by enabling personalized rewards and loyalty-style incentives intended to lower customer acquisition costs, encourage repeat visits, and increase customer lifetime value. For diners, Claim uses ordering behavior analysis to recommend restaurants they are likely to enjoy and applies cash-back rewards automatically.

Claim currently partners with brands including Joe & the Juice, Just Salad, Blank Street, Bluestone Lane, and Wonder, among others.

Availability is set to begin immediately for Grubhub merchants and diners in New York City, with a nationwide rollout planned for later in 2026. In the near term, Grubhub said it will focus on creating a smoother experience across both apps so diners can more easily access personalized rewards.

Grubhub said it connects customers with restaurants, merchants, and convenience retailers across the U.S., and noted that its marketplace includes more than 415,000 merchants across over 4,000 U.S. cities. Claim described its product as a restaurant discovery and rewards app built around weekly cash-back offers intended to turn new visitors into repeat customers.
