Workday announced that it has completed its acquisition of Sana, an AI company focused on next-generation enterprise knowledge and learning tools. By bringing Sana into its platform, Workday aims to create a single intelligent interface that centralizes how employees access information, complete tasks, and engage with systems across the enterprise.
The company will now work toward delivering what it describes as a new front door for work, where employees begin and end their day within Workday without needing to switch between multiple applications.
Workday, which serves as an enterprise AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, plans to integrate Sana’s AI-powered search, learning, and agent capabilities with Workday’s contextual data. Bringing these elements together will allow organizations to unify workflows and insights into one personalized and proactive experience that adapts to each employee’s role, ongoing projects, and priorities.
The new AI-native experience is designed to function as a horizontal intelligence layer within the enterprise, consolidating data, workflows, and knowledge across systems. The integration will also introduce AI agents that can retrieve relevant information, automate repetitive tasks, anticipate needs, and take direct action across critical business systems. Workday anticipates launching this new experience next year.
Sana’s suite includes Sana Agents, which enable employees to create no-code agents tied to enterprise data, and Sana Learn, which provides end-to-end AI-native learning capabilities. Sana Learn will complement Workday Learning by pairing AI-driven personalization with Workday’s existing governance, compliance, and system-of-record learning infrastructure. Together, these products are positioned to establish a comprehensive enterprise learning environment built for an AI-first operating environment.
