Workfully, a Barcelona-based recruitment platform, has announced the completion of a seed funding round that exceeded €4 million. The funding round was oversubscribed, meaning there was more investor demand than the amount of capital the company sought to raise. This strong investor interest highlights the confidence in Workfully’s innovative approach to transforming the recruitment industry.

The funding round was led by Shilling, a venture capital firm, with continued support from existing backers including Indico Capital, Pitchdrive, and Secways. The new capital will enable Workfully to expand across various parts of Europe, including Ireland, Germany, the Benelux countries, and the Nordic region. Additionally, the company plans to utilize the funds to develop its artificial intelligence-powered platform further.

Workfully was founded in 2022 with a clear mission: to create a hiring process that is more transparent and trustworthy. The company aims to empower individual recruiters, especially those working independently, by transforming them into solopreneurs. Unlike traditional talent marketplaces that often bypass recruiters and directly connect companies with candidates, Workfully’s platform places the recruiter at the center of the process. It enables recruiters to own and monetize their talent networks directly, much like digital creators earn revenue from their subscriber bases on platforms like Substack or YouTube.

For recruiters, Workfully offers a free, AI-powered customer relationship management system. This system enables them to publish job roles, manage candidate pipelines, and build ownership over their talent pools. This approach provides recruiters with a scalable and recurring revenue model, as they can offer on-demand access to their specialized talent audiences to companies, thereby increasing their earnings as their networks grow. This model also provides a significant advantage over social media followers, which are typically non-monetizable.

For companies, Workfully presents a modern, data-driven alternative to traditional recruitment agencies, which are often criticized for high costs and inconsistent service quality. Several global companies, including Semrush, BlackBerry, Delivery Hero, and TravelPerk, are already using Workfully for their international hiring needs.
