Working Capital Partners (WCP), a structured capital platform focused on athletes, artists, and entertainers, announced it has closed its Series A funding round led by WTSL, the investment firm founded by Patrick Whitesell and Jason Lublin. The new funding will support the company’s expansion as it scales a platform with more than $2 billion in deal capital capacity.
Founded by Grady Gamble and Jesse Greenberg and operating in partnership with Head of Sports Chris Koras, WCP is designed to address a longstanding gap in capital markets. While elite talent often generates predictable, enterprise-level income streams, traditional financial solutions have not enabled them to access that value efficiently without sacrificing ownership or flexibility.
WCP’s model provides structured financing solutions tailored to these individuals, allowing them to unlock future earnings today while maintaining control over their assets. The platform works alongside talent and their advisors to align with long-term financial goals.
In sports, the company is positioning guaranteed player contracts as a financeable asset class. This enables athletes to access capital upfront based on secured earnings, rather than waiting years for income realization. In music, WCP offers an alternative to catalog sales, allowing artists to receive comparable proceeds while retaining full ownership of their work and preserving optionality for future transactions.
With the new capital, WCP plans to expand further across the broader entertainment and creator economy, extending institutional-grade financial solutions to a wider range of talent-driven businesses.
KEY QUOTES:
“Historically, talent has had to choose between liquidity, flexibility and ownership. We built WCP to change that dynamic. By introducing new financial structures to sports and entertainment, we’re creating a category of capital that gives talent access to liquidity today to unlock generational wealth, while protecting the assets that define their legacy.”
Jesse Greenberg, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Working Capital Partners
“Athletes are increasingly taking control of their careers and financial futures, and that shift requires a new kind of capital partner. We see WCP as the financial engine behind that evolution, bringing institutional capital and structure to a market that historically hasn’t had access to it.”
Jason Lublin, President, WTSL
“WCP was built by people who have spent their careers working alongside athletes and artists. Our team’s deep experience across the sectors we serve provides us with a one-of-a-kind perspective that shapes how we approach every client. This allows us to focus on our core goal: advocating for talent and providing capital solutions that support their long-term success, not just short-term liquidity.”
Grady Gamble, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Working Capital Partners
