WorkWhile has appointed longtime board member and technology executive Simon Khalaf as Chief Executive Officer as the company enters its next phase of growth and expands into worker-focused financial services. Co-Founder Jarah Euston will transition to President and Chief Operating Officer, where she will focus on scaling operations and accelerating expansion.
The leadership transition comes during a period of significant momentum for the AI-powered labor platform. WorkWhile now serves more than 1.2 million U.S. workers and has grown more than 110% over the past nine months.
Khalaf has been on WorkWhile’s board since its early days and previously served as CEO of Marqeta. He has also held leadership roles at Twilio, Yahoo, and Verizon, bringing more than three decades of experience building and scaling media and technology companies. The company said his background will support the institutionalization of its growth strategy as it continues expanding its platform.
As part of its next chapter, WorkWhile is broadening its scope beyond job placement into worker financial services. The company recently launched real-time pay, enabling workers to access earnings immediately, with 91% of workers opting in within weeks of launch. The expansion reflects a strategy to provide workers not only with income opportunities but also with tools and services designed to support financial stability.
WorkWhile’s platform leverages proprietary AI to match labor supply and demand with speed and precision, aiming to improve efficiency for businesses while expanding access to quality hourly work opportunities. The company positions itself as a worker-first, AI-native labor marketplace built to address the complexities of the modern workforce.
