XALTER: Seed Funding Raised To Expand XR Training For The Energy Workforce

By Amit Chowdhry • Jan 30, 2026

XALTER, an immersive extended reality (XR) workforce development company serving the energy industry, announced it has raised a seed funding round led by EIC Rose Rock. The company said the investment will support market expansion and continued product innovation as energy operators confront workforce turnover, skill scarcity, and training approaches that have not kept pace with modern operational demands.

XALTER positions its platform as a simulation-based training system that replicates real job sites, equipment, and decision-making in a virtual environment, enabling frontline workers to build and demonstrate competency without the risks and constraints of live-field instruction. The company said its standards-based approach is intended to accelerate skill development, improve job readiness, and capture operational knowledge in a way that can be scaled across organizations.

The company’s current offering includes an upstream, production-focused virtual site that enables workers to learn and be assessed on operations, maintenance, and safety-critical tasks. XALTER said it is collaborating with energy industry leaders to broaden its training library beyond upstream into midstream and downstream applications, as well as power generation, low-carbon, and renewable energy segments.

XALTER said the new capital will help it expand deployment of its XR training products while continuing to develop its SaaS licensing model for standardized, expert-designed training experiences aimed at improving readiness and decision quality on the frontline.
