XOi Technologies provides a comprehensive data intelligence platform for field service contractors, enabling technicians to capture jobsite data, access virtual support, and deliver actionable insights for improved productivity and equipment uptime. Pulse 2.0 interviewed XOi Technologies founder and CEO Aaron Salow to learn more.
Aaron Salow’s Background
Please share your background. Salow said:
“My background is in industrial technology and enterprise sales, but I’ve always been drawn to the skilled trades–probably because of my upbringing. In 2013, I started XOi to close a gap I saw everyday: critical service equipment in the field generates a wealth of data, but much of that intelligence was inaccessible or siloed. Over the last decade, I’ve worked with an incredible team, forward-thinking investors and innovative customers to connect that equipment data to everyone in the service ecosystem.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for XOi come together? Salow shared:
“I grew up in a family of tradespeople. When I started my career in technology, I noticed there was a real gap between how critical the trades are and how underserved they are by modern software. Service teams often work in high-pressure, low-visibility environments, where they’re asked to communicate, understand and solve complex issues. I wanted to build something that captured expertise and made it available to the next generation in real time–not by replacing people, but by supporting them with smart, intuitive technology. That’s why we founded XOi–to connect the entire service ecosystem around the equipment, delivering real-time intelligence that drives better outcomes for every stakeholder.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Salow reflected:
“My favorite moments are when we see customers transform how they manage and service equipment. For example, helping a service company prove ROI to their customers with data-packed reports. Seeing that kind of impact in action, when it clicks that data and technology can help the industry keep the world running, that is what makes the work meaningful. It’s the kind of outcome that reminds me why we built XOi in the first place.”
Core Products
Please define the company’s core products and features. Salow explained:
“XOi is the only data intelligence solution for the equipment lifecycle. Purpose-built for the field service industry, XOi acquires, enriches, and surfaces asset data across every stage—connecting more dynamic and static data points than any other platform. By delivering the right information to the right person at the right time, XOi empowers technicians, manufacturers, distributors, service providers, and asset owners to reduce costs and increase uptime. It’s the intelligence that keeps the world running.”
“XOi enables smart workflows, real-time support, AI-powered recommendations, asset histories, quoting tools, and analytics. We also automate maintenance recommendations, proposals, and asset reports, giving all stakeholders the same source of truth for service decisions.”
Challenges Faced
What have been some challenges in your sector, and how have you overcome them? Salow acknowledged:
“The skilled trades have been underserved by software for decades, which puts them at a disadvantage, because they have a lack of visibility into how equipment is actually performing in the field. This lack of visibility slows down decision-making and limits the value of the information equipment generates. We’ve addressed this by creating a platform that integrates with existing systems, works the way contractors already operate and delivers data in a way that is actionable for every team member. XOi surfaces data intelligence to give everyone that makes, manages, or maintains equipment unmatched visibility into mission critical areas of their business—allowing them to make better decisions faster, plan smarter, increase efficiency and revenue, and improve outcomes at every touch point.”
Evolution Of The Company’s Technology
How has your technology evolved since launching? Salow noted:
“We began as a way to capture and share visual documentation from the field. Today, XOi is a comprehensive AI-powered data platform. We’ve expanded to integrate directly with equipment systems, asset management tools and business applications, allowing us to deliver real-time equipment intelligence that drives smarter service, proactive maintenance and better capital planning.”
Significant Milestones
Please share your most significant milestones. Salow cited:
“We’ve grown to more than 150,000 platform users, being named to the Inc. 5000 four years in a row, and secured a major growth investment from leading global investment firm KKR. Most importantly, we’ve helped connect hundreds of thousands of service events to meaningful, measurable business outcomes for our customers. Each of these moments reflects our impact on the industry and our ability to scale with purpose.”
Customer Success Stories
Please share any notable customer success stories. Salow highlighted:
“One of our longtime customers, Lee Company, is a perfect example of what’s possible with XOi.”
“Since XOi’s founding, they’ve used our platform to service their more than 1,000 person company–to scale their operations, reduce callbacks and improve training across hundreds of techs. We’ve also helped Ainsworth unlock significant business impact by influencing $3.8 million in closed/won quotes year-to-date in 2025 through their use of XOi. That measurable ROI demonstrates how asset intelligence not only transforms service delivery but directly drives revenue outcomes.”
“Smaller contractors have also differentiated themselves and won business with XOi’s help by delivering polished photo and video job summaries that build trust with customers. That kind of real-world success is what drives us.”
Funding/Revenue
Please discuss funding or revenue metrics. Salow revealed:
“We’ve raised capital from great partners like KKR and PeakSpan Capital, who believe in our mission to see the massive opportunity in modernizing the trades. In early 2025, we closed a $230 million growth investment to accelerate our expansion, deepen AI capabilities and deliver more value to contractors across North America.”
Total Addressable Market (TAM)
What is the total addressable market (TAM) your company is targeting? Salow assessed:
“Our market includes any organization responsible for maintaining, repairing or optimizing equipment–HVAC, plumbing, electrical, manufacturing and more. The total addressable market runs into the trillions when you consider not just the labor, but the equipment lifecycle value we impact.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates your company from competitors? Salow affirmed:
“XOi is purpose-built for the trades. We make the equipment–and the intelligence it generates–the center of the story. Our visual, AI-driven platform delivers shared visibility, faster decisions and better outcomes for the entire service ecosystem.”
Future Company Goals
What are your future goals? Salow emphasized:
“Our mission is to elevate the skilled trades. That means continuing to build tools and make life better for the industry as a whole. We will continue to expand our AI and automation capabilities, build deeper equipment integrations, and grow our ecosystem connections. And we will keep working to close the skilled labor gap by making these careers more accessible, more respected and more supported through technology.”
Additional Thoughts
Any additional topics you’d like to cover? Salow concluded:
“The skilled trades will always be essential, but the way we manage and service equipment is evolving rapidly. XOi is committed to leading that evolution by connecting every stakeholder with the data they need, when they need it, to keep the world’s equipment running.”
