Yellow Card has raised $40 million in strategic equity funding to expand its stablecoin infrastructure and Global USD Accounts platform. The round included investments from SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, Blockchain Capital and additional strategic investors. The financing brings Yellow Card’s total equity funding to more than $120 million.
Yellow Card plans to use the capital to make Global USD Accounts available to more businesses and expand its stablecoin payment rails across additional markets.
Global USD Accounts give businesses a single account through which they can hold U.S. dollars, hold and exchange stablecoins, manage treasury operations, and collect or disburse local currencies through domestic payment systems.
The infrastructure currently supports local currency transactions in more than 50 countries.
Yellow Card said the funding will deepen its presence in Latin America and Asia-Pacific while expanding local payment rails and currency coverage.
Existing customers of Global USD Accounts include Visa and Western Union.
The company has facilitated more than $10 billion in transactions, supports more than 50 currencies and holds licenses, authorizations or registrations in 22 jurisdictions across North America, Europe and Africa.
Yellow Card has also established strategic partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Coinbase.
The company is positioning its platform as a bridge between traditional banking infrastructure and stablecoin-based payments, particularly in emerging markets where correspondent banking can be expensive, slow or inaccessible.
Sony Innovation Fund’s participation is also expected to support Yellow Card’s expansion in Asia-Pacific.
KEY QUOTES:
“Stablecoins are here to stay, but their adoption will depend on robust infrastructure and clear real-world utility. Yellow Card is building those rails for businesses across Africa, enabling them to access and move value efficiently across markets.”
Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures
“The bigger opportunity now is connecting banks themselves to stablecoin rails. When institutions plug into this infrastructure, they’re not just modernizing payments, they’re unlocking dollar access for millions of businesses that traditional correspondent banking has left behind.”
Chris Maurice, Co-Founder and CEO of Yellow Card
