Yokogawa Electric has acquired Intellisync, a cybersecurity and digital transformation services provider, and WiSNAM, a developer of advanced grid control and energy management technologies. The companies will be integrated into BaxEnergy, Yokogawa’s wholly-owned renewable energy software subsidiary, to strengthen its digital infrastructure and broaden its role in managing renewable power systems at scale.
The acquisitions will support Yokogawa’s efforts to create an integrated digital hub focused on renewable energy, grid stability, and decarbonization. Intellisync brings capabilities including cybersecurity as a service, continuous monitoring through a 24/7 security operations center, vulnerability testing, and consulting across both IT and operational technology environments. These capabilities will enhance Yokogawa’s ability to secure critical infrastructure and industrial systems.
WiSNAM offers scalable hardware and software solutions that enable power producers to optimize the performance of renewable and distributed energy resources. Its flagship Power Plant Controller is used to maintain grid compliance, manage variability, and improve yield in photovoltaic and hybrid energy facilities. By incorporating WiSNAM’s control technologies into BaxEnergy’s platform, Yokogawa aims to help utilities and industrial customers manage increasingly complex power networks with greater efficiency and reliability.
The acquisitions also support Yokogawa’s shift toward recurring revenue models, including software as a service, and provide additional digital products that complement the company’s broader industrial automation and energy transition strategy.
Intellisync and WiSNAM are both headquartered in Acireale, Italy, and led by CEO and founder Simone Massaro. The companies employ teams focused on cybersecurity, digital transformation, and renewable energy control development. Following integration, BaxEnergy will continue to expand its portfolio supporting wind, solar, hydrogen, battery storage, geothermal, combined cycle generation, and other clean energy technologies across global markets.
