Zeitview Acquires Methane Detection Firm Insight M To Expand Into Oil And Gas Sector

By Amit Chowdhry ● Feb 16, 2026

Zeitview, an AI-driven asset intelligence company focused on critical infrastructure, has acquired Insight M, a methane detection and analytics company serving major oil and gas operators. The deal marks Zeitview’s formal entry into the oil and gas sector and significantly broadens its end-to-end infrastructure offering across energy generation, distribution, and consumption assets.

With the acquisition, Zeitview adds aircraft-based methane detection and basin-scale analytics to its platform, which already supports wind, solar, telecom, property, and utility assets. The combined company will now serve assets spanning wind, solar, oil, gas, commercial and industrial facilities, and data centers, positioning itself as a cross-sector infrastructure intelligence provider for the AI era.

Industry data indicate that a small percentage of assets account for the majority of methane emissions, with a handful of large leaks driving disproportionate product loss, operational risk, and regulatory exposure. Historically, operators have relied on manual leak detection and repair programs that have struggled to scale across millions of miles of pipelines and hundreds of thousands of production facilities.

Insight M was built to address this challenge through large-scale, aircraft-based methane detection that identifies high-impact emissions events and prioritizes repairs based on economic and environmental return. Over the past decade, the company has helped operators save approximately $900 million in product value and prevent more than 255 billion cubic feet of methane emissions, representing one of the largest real-world methane mitigation efforts to date.

The combined platform aims to shift operators from reactive leak response to proactive asset management by integrating methane detection with AI-driven asset health monitoring, global inspection operations, and visual data analytics. Zeitview operates in more than 80 countries and has inspected over 200,000 assets worldwide, delivering predictive insights designed to improve uptime, reduce risk, and optimize maintenance spending.

The timing of the acquisition comes amid growing pressure on energy systems to deliver reliable supply while reducing emissions intensity. The expansion of LNG export capacity and the rising role of natural gas in supporting data center demand are increasing the need for near-zero-emissions operations alongside resilient asset performance. The combined offering will support major oil and gas operators, including Occidental Petroleum, BP, and Targa, while building on Zeitview’s renewable energy portfolio spanning hundreds of gigawatts of capacity.

KEY QUOTES

“Insight M has built deep expertise in helping oil and gas companies identify and prioritize high-impact emissions events at basin scale. By combining that capability with Zeitview’s global inspection operations, AI-driven asset intelligence, and visual data platform, we can help operators move from reactive response to proactive asset management, keeping more oil and gas in the pipeline, improving uptime, and making better decisions across their infrastructure. With Insight M as our foundation, our intent is to build something truly unique and complete across visual data for the oil and gas industry.”

Dan Burton, Founder And CEO Of Zeitview

“This is a natural next chapter for Insight M. Our mission has always been to help operators detect, understand, and reduce methane emissions, but real impact requires context across the entire asset. By joining forces with Zeitview, we’re able to expand our capabilities into a more holistic asset integrity platform, one that helps oil and gas customers manage risk, improve performance, and operate more sustainably.”
David Bercovich, CEO Of Insight M

“The combination of Zeitview and Insight M creates an industry leading asset intelligence platform for energy infrastructure globally. As the complexity and criticality of power generation increases, we expect Zeitview and Insight M’s comprehensive offering to create deeper relationships with customers and significant long-term impact.”
