Zelis, a healthcare technology company focused on modernizing payments across the payer-provider ecosystem, has acquired Rivet, a revenue cycle analytics provider, in a deal aimed at improving claim-payment transparency and reducing administrative friction for providers and health plans.
The acquisition formalizes a partnership the two companies had already been operating, with Zelis positioning Rivet’s AI-enabled analytics as a way to give providers clearer visibility into claim payment patterns, denial trends, and related performance drivers through dashboards and actionable insights.
Zelis said the combined platform is designed to help providers identify issues that lead to rework and delayed reimbursement, while supporting more effective interactions with payers. For payers, the companies expect the analytics-driven approach to reduce routine, transaction-focused inquiries and enable more productive collaboration with providers on improving first-pass claim outcomes.
Executives framed the transaction as a response to mounting financial and operational pressure across healthcare, including rising administrative costs and increasing regulatory complexity. Zelis said the integration will enhance its ability to identify system-wide pain points and address them with technology built for healthcare financial workflows.
Rivet’s capabilities are expected to sit alongside Zelis’ broader suite of healthcare financial solutions serving payers, TPAs, providers, and consumers. Zelis said it works with more than 750 payers, including the top five national health plans, as it expands its footprint across payments and related administrative processes. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
