Zero Homes: $16.8 Million Raised For Home Upgrade Technology Platform

By Amit Chowdhry • Feb 23, 2026

Zero Homes has raised $16.8 million in a Series A round to expand its digital platform that streamlines home upgrades for homeowners and contractors. The funding was led by Prelude Ventures, with participation from SJF Ventures, Watsco Ventures, and existing investors VoLo Earth Ventures, Overture VC, and FJ Labs.

The company said the capital will support expansion into new markets, broaden its product offerings, and accelerate the growth of its contractor network.

Founded in 2022, Zero Homes has built what it describes as the first end-to-end digital platform for residential home upgrades. The system combines remote data collection with engineering-driven design tools to deliver transparent pricing and coordinated installation through vetted local contractors.

Using a smartphone, homeowners can create a digital twin of their property by capturing video scans, photos, and uploading utility data. That information is transformed into customized upgrade designs based on ACCA-certified and DOE-validated methodologies. Homeowners can then compare upgrade options, configure available incentives and financing, and schedule installation through a single point of contact.

The residential home improvement sector represents a $500 billion-plus market, yet much of the process remains manual and fragmented. Homeowners often face opaque pricing and lengthy timelines, while contractors manage significant administrative burdens tied to design work, permitting, rebate filings, equipment procurement, and unpaid sales visits.

Zero Homes aims to reduce friction on both sides of the transaction by digitizing assessments, automating design workflows, and centralizing project coordination. The company’s leadership says simplifying the process can improve trust, quality, and efficiency across the ecosystem.

Zero Homes is currently installing projects in Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Illinois, and California, with plans to expand further in 2026. The company positions its platform to make home upgrades as transparent and seamless as other modern digital purchasing experiences.
