Zero RFI, a newly launched AI-native platform company founded by technology veteran KP Reddy, has raised $13.8 million in seed funding to modernize the construction industry. The round was led by General Catalyst, with the company positioning itself as a platform that will acquire and scale complementary businesses while embedding AI-driven intelligence across the construction lifecycle.
The company is launching with three initial acquisitions: Brookwood Group, BuildingWorks, and KP Reddy Co., forming the foundation of a broader roll-up strategy designed to create shared infrastructure, data intelligence, and operational efficiencies across the built environment.
Zero RFI is targeting an industry that manages roughly $10 trillion in annual capital projects but has experienced declining productivity over the past four decades. Construction workflows remain largely unchanged since the mid-20th century, and the sector continues to face rising costs, labor shortages, regulatory complexity, and fragmentation. The company aims to address these challenges by applying enterprise-ready AI technologies alongside domain expertise to improve decision-making, reduce uncertainty, and streamline project execution.
The platform will initially focus on building owners and developers, particularly at early project stages where decisions have the greatest long-term impact but where technology adoption has historically lagged. By integrating AI across its portfolio companies, Zero RFI aims to provide clearer project direction, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance coordination among stakeholders.
KP Reddy, the founder and CEO, brings deep experience in construction technology, having previously founded and exited three companies. He is also the founder and General Partner of Shadow Ventures and has authored multiple books on innovation and digital transformation in the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors. His background as a second-generation civil engineer informs the company’s focus on combining practical industry knowledge with advanced technologies such as AI, robotics, and automation.
The company’s name reflects the concept of achieving “zero Requests for Information,” a state in which construction projects are so clearly defined and coordinated that no additional clarification is required. This vision underpins Zero RFI’s goal of eliminating ambiguity and inefficiencies that have long been accepted as standard in the industry.
The three acquired companies each contribute specialized capabilities. Brookwood Group provides owner’s representative services and has decades of experience managing large-scale projects globally. BuildingWorks focuses on construction closeout services, streamlining documentation, and ensuring compliance throughout a building’s lifecycle. KP Reddy Co. delivers innovation advisory services, helping enterprises assess and implement digital transformation strategies within the built environment.
Through this integrated platform, Zero RFI aims to create a compounding effect where shared intelligence and aligned operations across its portfolio companies drive improved outcomes for clients and accelerate modernization across the construction sector.
