Zillow Reveals In-App Messaging To Simplify Home Shopping And Collaboration

By Amit Chowdhry • Oct 28, 2025

Zillow has introduced a new messaging feature that allows home buyers and their co-shoppers to communicate, share listings, and stay organized directly within the Zillow app. The launch aims to make the home shopping process more efficient by keeping every conversation in one place, eliminating the need to switch between texts, emails, and multiple apps.

The feature arrives as part of Zillow’s Fall Product Launch and is designed for the growing number of buyers who co-shop. By using the in-app messaging system, partners, family members, or friends can now exchange listings and chat in a single thread linked to each home.

Zillow’s latest updates also include new digital tools designed to help buyers and renters move more smoothly from discovery to closing. These additions include AI-powered virtual staging that lets users visualize homes in different styles, verified mortgage preapprovals through Zillow Home Loans, a closing dashboard with Spruce to track title and escrow tasks, and a Rentals AI Assist powered by EliseAI that answers renter questions instantly.

This new functionality builds on Zillow’s broader push to integrate technology into every stage of the home-buying journey. Following its Summer Product Launch, which introduced SkyTour 3D aerial tours and tools like BuyAbility℠ and the Rent Affordability Calculator, Zillow continues to advance its goal of creating a seamless, connected real estate experience for buyers, sellers, and renters.
