Scripps Networks Has Acquired Parent Company of Pickle.com, Incando For $4.1 Million

Scripps Networks and Incando LogosScripps Networks, the parent company of HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living TV Network, and Great American Country announced today that they have acquired Incando. Incando is the parent company of photo and video sharing website, Pickle.com. Scripps Networks is a subsidiary of The E.W. Scripps Company (NYSE:SSP). The E.W. Scripps Company also owns United Media, the number one cartoon licensing and syndication company that provides a home for comics such as Peanuts, Dilbert, Marmaduke, Big Nate, Frank & Ernest, etc.

The amount for the acquisition was $4.1 million. Pickle.com is based in Washington D.C. Scripps acquired Recipezaar for $25 million last month according to paidContent.

“We are committed to our strategy of owning the food, shelter and lifestyle categories online as well as on air,” stated John Lansing, the President of Scripps Networks. “With the acquisition of Incando, we now have the back-end tools to engage consumers, viewers, and marketers in a multi-branded, multimedia online universe with compelling, personalized experiences.”
