Google Is Settling A Photographer Lawsuit Over Google Books

By Amit Chowdhry • Sep 6, 2014

Google announced a settlement with a photographer coalition over their user of work in the Google Books scanning project.

The photographer’s coalition filed a lawsuit against Google in 2010. The terms of the deal were undisclosed. The parties are all “pleased” though. The PLUS Coalition will receive funding for better image licensing technology.

This is not the only settlement that Google made over Google Books. Two years ago, Google settled an extended disagreement with book publishers. Google also won a case over the Authors Guild last year.
