Sisense is a business analytics company that simplifies complex data with easy-to-understand analytics. There are more than 1,000 customers that work with Sisense including Expedia, GE, Nasdaq, Rolls-Royce, Fujitsu, and Philips. For the Nasdaq, Sisense is used as its analytics engine for the main investor relations systems that are used by CFOs.

Technical expertise is not needed for using Sisense. Business users can gain accurate intelligence the moment it is needed without waiting for hours, days, or weeks like other platforms.

Sisense’s business platform can prepare, analyze, and visualize large volumes of data. The platform uses proprietary In-Chip and Single Stack technologies to simplify every step of the business intelligence platform ranging from data preparation to insights discovery.

Sisense recently raised $80 million in Series E funding led by Insight Venture Partners. Previous investors Battery Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, DFJ Venture Capital, Genesis Partners, and Opus Capital also participated in this round. Sisense raised a total of $200 million thus far. And former Duo Security and Zendesk COO Zack Urlocker also joined Sisense’s board of directors recently.

“We are honored that Insight Venture Partners has joined our mission to empower everyone by making data-driven insights instantly accessible everywhere. Every business is facing the challenge of extracting relevant and accurate insights from ever-growing amounts of data and data sources,” said Sisense CEO Amir Orad in a statement. “This round will allow us to accelerate our aggressive hiring, increase our global footprint, boost our cloud offering, and make additional investments in our Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs that are the core of our In-Chip technology and analytics platform agility.”

Urlocker worked for Duo Security for about three years. Initially, he worked at Duo as an advisor and then he became the COO running sales, marketing, products, and services. Urlocker said that he helped grow the company from $7 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) to about $100 million. Recently, Cisco acquired Duo Security for $2.35 billion.

With the funding, Sisense is planning to add nearly 500 employees across its offices in New York, Arizona, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, and Kiev. The company may also use the funding for acquisitions.
