  • Amazon has accidentally sold a Moto Z4 before Motorola officially announced the device
  • And the buyer posted an unboxing video of the Moto Z4
  • What are the Moto Z4 specs? This article answers that question

Motorola did not officially announce the Moto Z4  yet, but Amazon accidentally made it available for purchase and shipped a unit to someone way ahead of schedule. According to Droid-Life, the person that received the order also put together an unboxing video and posted information about the device on Reddit.

What are the Moto Z4 specifications? In terms of design, it has an aluminum build and the display has a half-circle notch for the front-facing camera. The Moto Z4 is priced at $499.99 and it comes with 128GB of storage and a Moto 360 Camera Mod for that price. Plus the Moto Z4 has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ OLED FullVision display (2340×1080 resolution), Gorilla Glass 3, 4GB RAM, a fingerprint reader built into the display, a microSD slot that supports up to 2TB, a Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor, Adreno 608 GPU, 3600 man battery with 15W fast charging, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and unlocked support for major US carriers including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost, Cricket, and Metro.

The rear-facing camera is 48-megapixel, but it gets processed down to 12-megapixels with Motorola’s Quad Pixel technology. And the front-facing camera is 25-megapixels.

Amazon has removed the device listing. But once it gets added again, there will be two models available for purchase. One of the variants will be an Amazon exclusive that ships with several apps pre-loaded. And there will be a variant with a lesser number of pre-loaded apps.

“I’m unsure if the back is frosted glass or aluminum. I’m starting to think it may be a frosted glass. I’ve also had the chance to use my phone for a bit in an everyday setting and I can report that the software is still very buggy. I’m getting lag and animation stuttering where I shouldn’t. Camera software is also very buggy with autofocus going haywire when taking photographs of close subjects,” said the Moto Z4 buyer in the Reddit post. “I expect all this to hopefully be fixed with a day one patch. The phone doesn’t appear to be a preproduction model since the packaging is all retail. The mods not fitting flush is a problem with the fact that they machined the frame with a uniform taper on the rear which doesn’t cause a problem with the top and bottom where mods do lay flush but instead with the sides where they continued the taper and that small taper is what makes the mods edges on the sides stick out ever so slightly.”
