Carlyle Launches New Evergreen Private Equity Strategy

By Amit Chowdhry • Jun 28, 2024

Global investment firm Carlyle announced the launch of a new evergreen private equity strategy Carlyle AlpInvest Private Markets SICAV (CAPM SICAV), offering investors worldwide – except the US – access to a global portfolio of private markets investments by leveraging Carlyle’s Global Investment Solutions business AlpInvest.

With $425 billion in assets under management (AUM), Carlyle and AlpInvest help investors meet their objectives by offering access to a range of opportunities across private markets.

CAPM SICAV aims to provide immediate, diversified, and continuous access to global private equity buyout markets by allocating primarily across AlpInvest’s Secondary and Co-Investment fund opportunities, and offering exposure to Primary fund investments.

This launch builds on recent successful product launches for Carlyle’s global wealth channel in Caryle’s Credit and Investment Solutions segments, notably Carlyle AlpInvest Private Markets Fund (a US-registered fund available to US investors). And it marks another milestone in the firm’s ambition to deliver its nearly four decades of successful and long-term value creation to wealth management clients and help facilitate access to the growth and diversification opportunities the private markets offer.

KEY QUOTES:

“CAPM SICAV is exciting as it allows us to further build out our global private equity capability to individuals in new geographies. We have constructed and managed similar portfolios for some of the largest private equity investors for over 20 years, committing over $95 billion since 2000.”

– Ruulke Bagijn, Head of Global Investment Solutions

“The launch of CAPM SICAV is a significant step for Carlyle’s global wealth offering, providing individual investors with diversified exposure into private equity investments by leveraging the scale and breadth of AlpInvest’s platform and extensive GP network. It is a compelling opportunity for individual investors to benefit from our expertise in private markets.”
