Digitate: Using AI/ML To Help Companies Become More Efficient

By Amit Chowdhry • Jan 5, 2024

Digitate is a company that leverages machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to manage IT and business operations. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Digitate product owner Shouvik Banerjee to learn more about the company.

Shouvik Banerjee’s Background

Banerjee started his career as a systems engineer for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he worked his way up to a solution architect for large and strategic services deals globally. Banerjee said:

“When TCS incubated Digitate in 2015, I helped package and launch ignio into the market. Subsequently, I moved to Digitate in 2017, where I currently work as a Product Owner.”

Core Products

What are Digitate’s core products and features? Banerjee explained:

“Digitate provides SaaS-based autonomous enterprise software for IT and business operations. Our flagship product, ignio AIOps, is an AI-powered software that combines enterprise IT insights, context, and automated actions to automate IT operations and eliminate repetitive manual tasks. Ignio detects and assesses system behavior irregularities, triages and remediates incidents, predicts the future state, and proactively prescribes actions to mitigate any disruptions.”

Evolution Of Digitate’s Technology

How has the company’s technology evolved in the past year? Banerjee noted:

“This year, we unveiled two brand new enhancements to help enterprises achieve even more resiliency and agility. In March, we announced the general availability of Eagle, the newest version of our ignio platform. ignio Eagle incorporates explainable AI to provide users with accurate predictions through black-box algorithms. With the Eagle launch, ignio is now the first SaaS product to contain explainable AI capabilities, changing the game for IT operation management.”

“In August, Digitate introduced new generative AI capabilities to help enterprises accelerate their journey to the autonomous enterprise. The new offerings include a context-aware knowledge accelerator and an integrated AI-driven assistant.”

Customer’s Challenges

What are some challenges your customers are facing? Banerjee pointed out:

“The IT landscape has become increasingly complex, with a mix of on-premises systems and modern technologies, such as multi-cloud and containers. This has also resulted in an increase in the number of different monitoring tools for each technology, causing redundant and inaccurate alerts.”

“Many IT teams are burning out from the high volume of repetitive and manual processes they are tasked with daily. Not to mention, manually identifying the root cause can take a long time. Even a few seconds of downtime can cause millions of dollars in lost revenue.”

Customer Success Stories

After asking Banerjee about customer success stories, he highlighted:

“One of our customers is a large pharmacy and food retailer with more than 2,000 stores and over 25 distribution centers in North America. The organization’s IT environment consisted of more than 200 business apps. Its SAP retail environments were one of the largest, with over 20,000 servers on the cloud and in two data centers.”

“They faced significant challenges in achieving resolution for customer-facing systems in under 15 minutes. They also experienced many store system outages throughout the year, which could cause risk of reputational and revenue loss. After deploying ignio across all its apps, IT operations, SAP system, and more, 20% of service desk and store operation incidents were proactively eliminated. Since 55% of IT incidents were also managed autonomously, the company saved $20 million in operational expenses annually.”
