DuploCloud is a DevOps platform for automating infrastructure provisioning, built-in compliance, and security. Pulse 2.0 interviewed DuploCloud founder and CEO Venkat Thiruvengadam to learn more.
Venkat Thiruvengadam’s Background
Before launching DuploCloud, Thiruvengadam worked as an early engineer at Microsoft Azure and was the first developer and founding member of Azure’s networking team.
“I wrote significant parts of Azure’s compute and network controller stack and saw Azure grow from a hundred-odd server to millions of nodes in just a few years,” said Thiruvengadam. “After leaving Microsoft, I realized that such hyper-scale automation techniques had not made their way outside of companies like AWS, Microsoft, and Google. This led to my founding of DuploCloud with a goal to bring the hyper-scale automation techniques to main street IT.”
What are DuploCloud’s core products and features?
“DuploCloud’s no-code/low-code software platform essentially acts as your DevSecOps expert, integrating hundreds of services in AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Security, and IoT, among others with open-source tools, including monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch), antivirus (ClamAV), and SIEM (Wazuh), while our patented rules-based engine speeds time-to-market by translating high-level application specifications into detailed and fully managed cloud configurations,” Thiruvengadam explained. “Our software platform takes high-level application specifications from the developer and translates them into secure cloud configurations. The software runs within the customer’s cloud environment and is easily accessed by users.”
Plus, Thiruvengadam pointed out that the key features include:
— 10 times faster deployment means faster time to revenue: Modernizes infrastructure with microservices and cloud-native design.
— Implements security frameworks in weeks – not months: Quickly and easily follows regulatory standards like SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, HITRUST, and GDPR.
— Requires minimal subject matter expertise and addresses the DevOps labor shortage: DuploCloud auto-generates 90% of the manual code based on best practices, compliance standards, and cloud integrations.
— Eliminates human error: Its software-based configuration undergoes multiple security, reliability, and scalability tests and audits.
— Seamless cloud migration: Provides unique data migration techniques to move your software from on-prem to the cloud or between public clouds.
— Reduces costs by approximately 75 percent: The combination of 10x faster cloud provisioning and DuploCloud auto-generates 90% of the manual code leads to significant cost savings as companies now need to spend less time and resources on infrastructure configurations. On average, the DuploCloud team will train and configure the software with a typical turnaround time of 4-5 days.
Evolution Of DuploCloud’s Technology
How has DuploCloud’s technology evolved since launching? “While not necessarily at technology evolution, our understanding of our ideal customer profile has evolved since launch,” Thiruvengadam pointed out. “Our original premise centered around the notion that customers valued our platform’s ability to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, but we soon learned that our software’s ability to deploy a fully compliant and secure infrastructure was of even greater value to our customers.”
What have been some of DuploCloud’s most significant milestones? “We surpassed a high number of customers one year after launch, secured our Series A funding in February of 2022 after a record 3-week due diligence process, and we have recently surpassed our 100th customer installation,” Thiruvengadam revealed.
Customer Success Stories
When I asked Thiruvengadam about customer success stories, he replied: “We’ve worked with thousands of customers to provide end-to-end DevOps automation solutions. For instance, with the intelligence platform Kloudspot, the company previously managed all platforms manually on AWS EC2 instances, which was time-consuming and cumbersome for their DevOps team. They turned to us to deploy their DevOps infrastructure on the fly through an automated system, cutting development and service management time in half.”
In February 2022, the company announced the closing of a $15 million Series A funding round led by Mayfield with participation from existing seed investor Monta Vista Capital – which brought the total capital raised to date to $17.5 million.
Total Addressable Market
What total addressable market (TAM) size is DuploCloud pursuing? “There’s tremendous market demand for DevOps architecture, tools, and solutions, as such, the DevOps market size is expected to grow from $10.4 billion in 2023 to $25.5 billion by 2028 at a growth rate of 19.7%, according to Markets and Markets. DuploCloud is focused on serving a wide range of sectors requiring DevOps solutions from healthcare to retail, transportation, and more,” Thiruvengadam assessed.
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates DuploCloud from its competition? “DuploCloud truly provides end-to-end solutions like no other company. From infrastructure provisioning and application deployment to security controls and alerts, DuploCloud is an all-in-one no-code / low-code software automation and compliance platform designed to meet all your cloud infrastructure needs,” Thiruvengadam concluded. “Other companies in our space typically focus on one single point product in the DevOps ecosystem, like CI/CD or Monitoring, and leave the integration of these products up to their customers.”
