- Microsoft has started rolling out Dynamics 365 Commerce to enable retailers to manage businesses online.
Microsoft recently announced it is rolling out a new platform called Dynamics 365 Commerce, which enable retailers to manage businesses online according to CNBC. Dynamics 365 Commerce enables brands to create personalized product websites with customer reviews. This platform competes against other e-commerce platforms offered by Shopify and Adobe’s Magento.
A number of major brick-and-mortar retail companies have been utilizing Microsoft Azure for their cloud servers rather than supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) as that is one of their fiercest competitors. But AWS was still able to sign several retailers like Kenneth Cole and J. Crew. Plus Amazon has a partnership with Kohl’s where customers can return their Amazon purchases at Kohl’s retail stores.
The Dynamics 365 Commerce platform is an expansion of Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 for Retail. And Microsoft corporate vice president Alysa Taylor told CNBC that the company started developing the platform over a year ago after having conversations with customers about what they were looking for. The platform is currently available in private preview.
