- Microsoft unveiled the return of Flight Simulator and the trailer is stunning
At the Xbox E3 press conference, Microsoft unveiled the return of Flight Simulator. This is exciting since Flight Simulator is one of Microsoft’s most favorable simulation franchises.
Below is a trailer for the new 4K Flight Simulator application set to arrive next year.
I recommend that you watch the trailer in full-screen in 4K on YouTube as it is visually stunning.
“From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world. Create your flight plan and fly anywhere on the planet,” said Microsoft in a statement.
In the trailer, you will notice that the simulator is powered by satellite data and Azure AI. The trailer features planes flying over the Palm Islands in Dubai, past the Space Needle in Seattle, the pyramids of Giza, the Grand Canyon, etc. And the new Flight Simulator will show pilots how to deal with all kinds of weather conditions.
The exact release date is unknown. However, Microsoft revealed that the new Flight Simulator will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10 next year. And you will be able to play it through Game Pass.
At E3, Xbox head Phil Spencer pointed out that Microsoft used 2 petabytes of geographical data to develop the scenery of the game. And Microsoft also unveiled details about Microsoft Xbox Project Scarlett and announced the Double Fine acquisition at the event.
